Each month since November 1993, the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond has conducted the Survey of Manufacturing Activity. The survey is sent electronically to manufacturing firms that are selected for participation according to their type of business, location, and firm size.
About 200 contacts receive questionnaires and approximately 90 to 95 of those surveyed respond in a typical month. Respondents report on various aspects of their business, such as shipments, new orders, order backlogs, inventories, and expectations for business activity during the next six months.Find out more »
The Dallas Fed conducts the Texas Service Sector Outlook Survey monthly to obtain a timely assessment of the state's service sector activity. Firms are asked whether revenue, employment, prices, general business activity and other indicators increased, decreased or remained unchanged over the previous month.Find out more »
